The FesseNDen logo was designed by Peder Gjovik, a graphic art instructor in Wyoming and property owner south of Fessenden. The slogan, 'The Heart of Wells County: Harvesting Friends and Family Roots' was created by Carrie Opdahl, Fessenden resident. The logo and slogan were selected through a contest held by Fessenden Civic and Commerce Association in 2004.

City Council meetings are held the 1st Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

City Auditor Kodi Keller has been with the City for nearly five years.

Mayor

Kevin Roller

Kevin Roller has been a council member for the City for 13 years. In 2006, Roller became Mayor.

Roller is an active member of the Fessenden Fire Protection District and has served as Fire Chief numerous times. He also is a past-member of the Fessenden Ambulance Service and has served as Squad Leader. He was an EMT for 13 years.

An active member of the First Lutheran Church, Fessenden, Roller serves on the Church Council. Roller is a past-president of the council.

Roller also serves God as a Lay Pastor for the Gifts Program.

He is employed by the Fessenden Coop Elevator - Chemical Plant.

Alderman

Dan Mack

Mayor Dan Mack has been a dedicated member of the City Council as Alderman and as Mayor for 14 years. He was Mayor from June 1994 to 2006.

Mack is also an active member of the South Central Regional Council, Wells County Job Development and is the Treasurer of the Wells County Fair Association.

Mack and his wife, Ruth, are retired owners of a 30+ year business, Wells County Abstract. They retired in Aug. 2007.

Alderman

Keith Middleman

Keith Middleman serves in his eighth year as alderman.

Besides the City Council, Middleman is a member of the Fessenden Fire Protection District, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the First Lutheran Church, Fessenden.

Middleman is employed at Fessenden Coop Elevator - Chemical Plant.

Jodi Helm

Jodi Helm was installed as alderman June 2002.

Outside of the council, Helm is an active member of the Fessenden Civic & Commerce Association as a Director. Her duties include coordinating Santa Days, Circus Days and many other events.

She is a past-Youth Group Advisor for the First Lutheran Church, Fessenden. She is currently the Work Group Coordinator for her church.

One of the founders of the BearBack Trackers, Helm enjoys helping out her community by volunteering her time.

Helm is Office Manager of her family-owned business Lelm Implement.

Tim Beck

Tim Beck has been an alderman for the City of Fessenden since 2004.

He is a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden.

Beck is an area farmer.

Alderman

Dave Feakes

Dave Feakes has been a member of the City Council since 2000.

He is a member of the Fessenden Fire Protection District, serving as Fire Chief for nine years. And is a member of the Rescue Squad.

Feakes is also an active member of the Flatland Trailblazer Snowmobile Club, Chemical Health Committee and the St. Augustine Catholic Church, serving as past-president of the church council.

Feakes is employed at the First International Bank and Trust as an Insurance Agent.

Police Chief Larry Hoffer

Police Chief Larry Hoffer became the peace officer in Fessenden Aug. 11, 2003. Hoffer is an active member of the Chemical Health Consortium in Fessenden and previously in Harvey and the Wells County Children Protection Team since it began in 1978. Hoffer has been a peace officer for over 30 years.

The Hoffer's are members of the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church in Harvey; however, they attend First Lutheran Church in Fessenden regularly.

Street and Water Commissioner Larry Keller has been maintaining the City's infrastructure for 18 years. He is dedicated fire fighter and has been with the Fessenden Fire Protection District for 20 years. Keller enjoys the sport of Golf and is an active member of the Fessenden Country Club.
